Surely when most people think about dining out in Las Vegas, they likely envision a restaurant somewhere on Las Vegas Blvd, aka, The Strip. And lets face it, there are probably more excellent restaurants on the Strip between Hacienda and Saraha than there are excuses for sneaking off to Las Vegas in the first place. This has become especially true in the last few years. We're a food Mecca!

But believe it or not, there is a whole community of nearly 2 million people here who do not live on the Strip, and yet they have access to some of the best of Las Vegas as well. And since you are likely to be staying in one of our vacation homes soon, we thought it would be helpful for you to know about some of our local favorites.

These are great choices for those who want to stay away from the crowds and high prices down on the Strip, and for people who enjoy a staff that works just a little bit harder to please the customer.

Ventano Italian Grill & Seafood
Ventano has earned Valley-wide recognition and rave reviews from critics including Las Vegas Review-Journal's Best of Las Vegas - Italian Restaurant. We recommend the Grilled Hearts of Romaine salad and the Chicken Parmigiano.

Billy Bob's Steak House and Saloon
This one is a surprise! A Zagat winner set as a rustic ranch lodge? Billy Bob's serves some of the best steak, ribs and chicken in Las Vegas. Huge portions and low prices make this east side winner worth the journey. Located Inside Sam's Town on Boulder Highway.

Bob Taylor's Original Ranch House
Since 1955, Bob Taylor's has been a secret of the Las Vegas locals. Truly a special treat off the beaten path. Put simply, mesquite grilled Steaks from the finest beef available. The Ranch House is located in north west Las Vegas of Hwy 95.

Lotus of Siam
It is difficult to overstate how good the Thai food is here. Terms like, best in America, best I've ever had, are commonly used to describe the this restaurant. Located a mile east of the Strip on Sahara. Don't let the dated Strip mall fool you!

Panevino Ristorante

Certainly there are other good restaurants in Las Vegas, and there are new ones opening all the time. Guests in our vacation rentals have easy access to these fine choices and a myriad of others as well.
